Foundation Repair Photo Album: Repair Foundation Settlement in Stevensville, On

Nina & Carl in Stevensville, On started noticing cracks in the drywall and doors that were not aligned on the main floor of their home. They reached out to Omni Basement Systems for their advise. Pete Karreman went out to dot he inspection and found that it was definitely a foundation settlement issue and would probably require push piers to stabilize the foundation or possible raise it back into position. Pete enlisted a structural engineer to come up with a plan and add them to drawings for Omni to go off. With the home owners agreement, Omni started to add the push piers. At first, Omni added only push pier to get an idea what depth was required to reach bedrock or hard earth. To the customers, and Omni Basement Systems delight, bedrock was reached at only 19 feet. The the rest of the piers were added tot he foundation and the house could be lifted back in place. A total of 25 push piers were installed in their home to be able to support the entire area that had settled.

Flus mount pier brackets

On a poured concrete wall, flush mount piers are bolted to the foundation wall and the footing. These bolts are epoxied in.

Push cylinder

A very large bracket is temporarily attached to the pier bracket and a large hydraulic cylinder is attached. This is used to push pier tubes down until they reach the bedrock.

Push Pier Log

Every pier is logged to record the depth of the piers and the pressures they obtained.

Sump ssytem installed

Along witht he pier system, an interior drain system is installed. This system includes a new sump system.

Multiple piers

The piers are installed approx every 4 feet for best support.

Internal drainage.

The waterproofing was done using our patented Waterguard system.

Lift cylinders

Once all the push piers are in place, smaller hydraulic cylinders are attached and then they are connected to each other using hydraulic pressure lines. Then, all at once, the hydraulic fluid is pumped to the cylinders to raise the home back to level.
