Foundation Repair Photo Album: Repair sagging floor in Crawl space in St. Catharines, ON

Connell has a house in St. Catharines with a sagging crawl space. This Crawlspace has sagging floors probably caused by poor support and humidity. Omni Basement Systems came up with a plan to install their incredible SmartJack which is installed over an engineered footing. To help with the humidity, Omni installed the powerful Sanidry Xp dehumidifier which can remove up to 108 pints of water a day from the air space.

Galvanized SmartJack

THese SmartJack posts can support up to 30k lbs. They are galvanized so they will not rust. THey are also adjustable.

Footing hole

The footing starts with a 2'x2'x2' hole which will be filled with engineered fill.

Engineered footing

The 2'cube creates an engineered term of "Bulb of Influence" The design will transfer the weight throughout the entire cube.

Measuring the height

The height is carefully measured and the support jacks are cut to size.

Top plate

A suitable top plate is installed under the main beam.

The SmartJack is installed and adjusted.

The Sanidry XP is installed. This dehumidifier can remove up to 108 pints of water a day. It also features a 2 stage filtration to remove all airborne particulates.
