Foundation Repair Photo Album: Strengthening Bowing walls with Carbon Armor Niagara Falls, ON
Mike K. in Niagara Falls, ON has a block foundation and because of the soil conditions surrounding his home, he had bowing walls. Omni Basement Systems along with a P. Eng firm suggested Carbon Armor Armor locks from Supportworks. Carbon Armor is a 7” wide strip of Carbon Fibre that is adhered to the block wall with epoxy. Also, a strip of carbon fibre goes through a buckle and the buckle is bolted to the joist header to use the house floor system as additional support. To solidify the block, the bottom 3 rows of blocks are filled with reinforced grout. The 3 row of blocks are drilled and the grout is pumped in.
