The wall membranes are in place and the floor has been restored.
previous repair
This type of repair is less expensive but it only lasts 5-10 years at the most.
remove old repair
`First step in this case is to remove the old repair by grinding down the wall.
Opening the floor
The crack does ot stop at the floor . In fact it goes all the way to the footing. We open the floor and expose the footing and the gravel bed below.
Flexible Sealant
We then put a flexible sealant into the crack. This is the first line of defense for the leaking crack.
open cell drainage foam
Over the bead of sealant, an open cell drainage foam is applied. IF any moisture ever gets past the sealant, this is used as second line of defense to direct it down to the gravel bed beneath the floor slab.
Flexible sealant part 2
A flexible sealant is applied over top of the open cell foam to make sure nothing gets past the foam.
Sealant is troweled over
Sealant is then troweled over to make a seal.
Solid membrane
The last membrane is a 14 mil thick liner that gets fastened to the wall and sealed on the edges.
Bottom drainage membrane
A drainage membrane is added to the floor to insure that any possible moisture gets directed under the floor slab.
Re-concrete
After the repair is done, fresh concrete is added back again to finish the floor to the original height.
