Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproofing with wall support and window well drainage in Waterdown, ON
Rick & Sherry has a cenury farm house that has been renovate with modern amenities. They were going to renovate the basement when they found the walls were leaking and bowing slightly. also they were concerned with the window wells filing up and wanted to make sure they were included in the waterproofing project. Keith at Omni Basement Systems recommended our patented waterproofing drainage system called WaterGuard that drains to the SuperSump sump pump system. For the window wells Omni upgraded one well to a galvanized well and put drains in all the other wells to drain directly into the waterGuard system.
As for the Bowing walls, a combination of products were used. One area had 4 Carbon armor straps adhered to the wall along with reinforced grout to fill the cavities of the block and a carbon fiber strap to tie into the rim joist and floor joist system. Where available, Omni used a Steel "I" beam called a Power Beam to partially straighten the wall. This Power beam can be straightened over time.
