Photo Album: Wall support with waterproofing in Niagara Falls, On
Jamie and Marc have a home with a block foundation that needs waterproofing and also has bowing walls. Omni Basement systems recommended and installed an interior drainage system called Waterguard and for the bowing walls , Omni tackled the wall straightening with the PowerBrace system. PowerBrace are 4" galvanized "I" beams that are attached tot eh footing and the floor joist system using engineered brackets from Supportworks. The brackets that attached to the footing will anchor the PowerBraces at the bottom and the top bracket is adjustable sot hat the wall can possibly straightened over time.
Powerbrace attached to footings
The Powerbrace here is bolted to the footings. At the top you can clearly see how the bowing wall is keeping the top of the beam off the wall. THis will be closed after adjustments are made.
Top bracket.
Here on a wall where the joists are perpendicular, a Lever bracket is used and the joists are blocked back about 4 feet.
Adjustment bolt.
Here you can clearly see the large bolt that is used to push the wall straight over time. Sometimes right away,
Sump pump
An internal drain is installed along the wall at the same time which drains into a new Sump pump system called the Supersump
