Nancie has a home in Guelph, On with a dirt floor crawlspace. She wanted a space that was warmer and dryer and wanted it encapsulated. Omni Basement Systems recommended our Cleanspace system. This system includes a vapor barrier on the floor with some insulation to stop any condensation, foam insulation panels on the walls and a Sump pump to pump away any moisture set in the lowest point. The Supersump has an airtight lid so there is no moistier emitted to the crawlspace. Later a spray foam company will come back and insulate the rim joist cavities.

Dirt floor Crawlspace

Has some leaking from crack.

Wall membrane

This wall membrane will drain any moisture on the walls down.

Insulation and drainage membreane

The Silverglo insulation will stop cold air that comes through the walls and the reflective surface will reflect air back i the room.

Sump pump

A hole is opened up and the liner is put in place.

Terrablock insulation

Insulation is also put on the floor. It is thin but you don't need much here because the dirt floor is usually temped. This will reduce any condensation.

Vent cover

It is important to seal off any outside vents to properly encapsulate a crawlspace.

Sump pump installed

This Supersump is amongst one of the best sump systems there is. It Features a Zoeller cast-iron pump, a water watch alarm and an airtight lid and floor drain.

Silverglo insulation panels

The insulation panes are made with graphite and it bumps up the R value.

Vapr Barrier

The Cleanspace vapor barrier is 20 mil thick and it is made up of 7 layers. A couple of the layers are cord reinforcing and another is a product called Ultrafresh which is an anti-microbial to resist mold growth.
