Photo Album: Great interior waterproofing and wall support in Hailton, On
Lisa has a home in Hamilton that needed waterproofing. When they opened the wall they found signs of bowing. This is common on a block wall. Omni Basement Systems installed their an interior drain system and dealt with the bowing walls by adding Carbon Armor wall support. Carbon Armor is 7" wide strips of carbon fiber that gets epoxied to the wall. This wall will never bow any further. Because it was caught early, the stability will do. If it was left longer, Omni would have to use other techniques to actually straighten the wall.
Oopen a trench
The first step is to open a trench and start to prepare the wall for the Carbon Armor. Here you can see the paint has been ground off so that the epoxy will adhere.
Carbon Armor
The Carbon Armor is adhered tot he wall and the bottom 4 rows of blocks are filled with grout to solidify them.
Delta wall membrane
Once the wall is stabilized we can add the drainage wall membrane.
Drain system
The waterproofing drain tile is also added to the trench.
Sump pump
The sump pump system is added and the floor is restored
