Stair cracking
Stair cracking in the brick façade is a sign that your foundation has settled. This is caused by poor soil or being undermined by a water source.
amount of settlement
This shows how much the house has settled
corresponding crack
If only one area of a house has settled, normally you will find some corresponding crack on another wall.
Dig pothole
This pot hole is to expose the footing to attached the Pier bracket to
Pier Bracket
The Pier Bracket is attached to the footing. The large round hole at the top is where the pier tubes are inserted.
Driving the tubes
A drive stand is temporarily mounted along with a large hydraulic cylinder. This cylinder drives the pier tubes through the soil until bedrock is reached.
Pier tubes installed
Once the pier tubes are installed, the drive stand is removed and the tubes are cut to the correct height to add the top plate.
Lift cylinders
Once the top brackets are installed, lift cylinders are temporarily installed to achieve lift. The lift cylinders are all connected by hydraulic lines so they can lift all the pier systems together.
Push Pier log sheet
This sheet shows the depth and pressures achieved by each push pier system. The engineer for the project can check these numbers along with the city inspectors.
Water proofing
before the floor is re-concreted, waterproofing is added to the wall with a drainage system under the floor.
