Roll on Epoxy
Here the CarbonLoc is already installed and attached to the rim joist and our installer is rolling epoxy into the weave of the carbon fiber
Apply the Carbon fiber
The carbon fiber strips called CarbonArmor is applied to the prepared wall over the CarbonLoc and more epoxy is applied
Preparing the wall for Carbon Armor
Before the Carbon Armor can be attached, the wall is ground down to remove all paint and other impurities. Also, holes are drilled into cavies to fill the blocks with reinforced grout.
Attaching the CarbonLoc.
A strip of carbon fiber is looped into a metal bracket and the bracket is bolted to the rim joist to tie the wall securely into the frame structure of the house.
Cross stitches
quite often there will be some extra bowing under a window because this is the weakest point of the wall. here we are using cross stitches of carbon fiber to secure this area and tie it into the Carbon Armor system.
Finished product
In this case, waterproofing is necessary so Omni Basement Systems used their patented drain system called WaterGuard and used their own wall membrane called Cleanspace. The wall can now be finished any way the homeowner would like to do so with the confidence that the wall is secure and dry.
