Photo Album: Helical piers in Caledonia

Ken called to say that one corner and most of the garage wall had cracked in three places and the footing had settled. Omni Basement Systems employed a P. Eng to draw up a system and the customer agreed to have the work done. Omni went to work, first excavating the wall that has settled then using Helical piers, they drove galvanized tubes in to soil until they reached the right soil compression to support the structure. Once the piers are in place, they are capped off and small hydraulic cylinders are attached to lift the garage back into position.

After the Helical Pier is in place, this under footing bracket is connected and will lift and support the foundation.

These galvanized pier tubes will drive the helical down into the clay til they reach the desired specs to support the home.

Cutting the top of the Piers tubes

After the Piers have reached their desired toorque, the top is cut off and a plate is added toi the top of the bracket. this is used to lift and support the foundation.
